As an RN, you will play a crucial role in protecting, promoting, and optimizing patient health and abilities while preventing illness and alleviating suffering. Your responsibilities will include diagnosis, treatment, and advocacy for individuals and families, ensuring compliance with all nursing practices and standards. Key Responsibilities: - Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment. - Educate patients and families on health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources. - Administer medications safely, drawing on a comprehensive understanding of pharmacology and adhering to established policies. - Collaborate with colleagues to ensure effective resource utilization, including managing staffing, time, supplies, and services. - Maintain compliance with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. - Participate actively in Nursing Shared Governance, contributing to unit council activities and quality improvement initiatives. - Engage in continuous professional development and complete all mandatory education requirements. - Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice and provide mentorship to new employees and students. Skills and Experience: - Required: 6 months to 3 years of RN experience; 5+ years of direct nursing experience. - Preferred: Clinical nursing experience in acute care or ambulatory settings. - Strong collaboration, communication, judgment, critical thinking, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Education and Certifications: - Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; Current NYS RN License; BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross). - Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Professional certification in a related nursing specialty; Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC).
