Description:

A Registered Nurse (RN) in long-term care (LTC) provides comprehensive care to patients requiring extended medical care, often in nursing homes or assisted living facilities. They assess patients, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and assist with daily living activities. They also play a crucial role in educating patients and families about their conditions and providing emotional support.

Key Responsibilities:

• RNs in LTC assess residents' physical and mental health, create and update individualized care plans, and ensure the plan is effectively implemented.
• They administer medications, monitor for side effects, and ensure accurate documentation of medication administration.
• Assisting with Daily Living Activities:
• RNs help patients with tasks like bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility, promoting independence and dignity.
• They provide specialized wound care, including dressing changes, managing ostomies, and preventing complications.
• RNs monitor vital signs, observe patients' conditions, and report any changes or concerns to physicians or other members of the healthcare team.
• They educate patients and their families about conditions, medications, and self-care techniques, empowering them to actively participate in the care process.
• They offer emotional support and guidance to patients and families, helping them cope with chronic conditions, disability, or end-of-life care.
• RNs work closely with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
• They maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• They respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate care until further assistance arrives.

WEEKLY PACKAGE

Weekly Tax Free Stipend to be paid; $1,162.00

Weekly Straight Pay (Taxable): $900.00

Weekly Gross: $2,062.00

Local Pay: $55/hr
