Shift Information: - 3x12 hour shifts (Day/Night Rotation: 7a-7p / 7p-7a) - Minimum of ~20-26 weeks - Required to work through holiday season, with no guaranteed time-off for the three major holidays. Key Responsibilities: As a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, managing multiple priorities, and demonstrating the principles of a Healing Environment. Your duties will include: - Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for ICU patients. - Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care. - Maintaining patient confidentiality and approaching all interactions with professionalism and courtesy. - Demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance teamwork and collaboration. - Upholding safety protocols and promoting the dignity and well-being of all patients. Qualifications: License: - Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in New York State (NYS). Certifications: - Required: - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - All certifications must be through the RQI system during clinical orientation. Preferred Certifications: - Certification by the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) recommended within 2 years of hire. - Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) recommended within 2 years of hire. - Basic Coronary Care certification within 6 months of hire. - CPI certification within 90 days of hire. Skills Required: - Must demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. - Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. - Excellent computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical records. Patient Care Competence: - Must possess knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care across pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient groups. - Requires the ability to assess and interpret data reflective of the patient's status, addressing their specific needs accordingly.
