Job Description Summary Students needed to form a group that assists with the coordination of community service and art projects through the fall and spring semesters. This includes outreach through teaching, mural projects and/or freelance requests. Manage supplies and materials, organize student volunteers, develop art and community projects, recruit and coordinate volunteers and assist with clerical, promotional and fundraising efforts. Ideal candidates have shown a commitment to community service, are highly organized, interested in program development and outgoing. Communicate with community partners at benefiting sites. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Recruit student volunteers for non-profit freelance requests and to fill volunteer roles • Collaborate with other team members on service projects. • Communicate with community partners. • Assist with coordination, set up, and break-down of service projects. • Assist in expanding the involvement of Ringling student artists in the community and vice versa. • Design and coordinate projects for local non-profit organizations, including marketing and peer recruitment. • May mentor community members in art and service projects. • Assist with clerical and promotional activities (i.e. Designing fliers, etc.) related to community service projects. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Must be enrolled as a student of Ringling College of Art and Design and meet federal work-study eligibility requirements. • Must possess a commitment to community service. • Must possess a talent in design or illustration. • Must be outgoing and highly organized. • Must be comfortable working with children and be exceptionally patient. • Must be dependable and able to work as scheduled. • Must be able to communicate effectively. REQUIREMENTS: Students who apply will need to pass a background check by the Juvenile Justice Department. Experience working with children is a plus but not required. The ability to work professionally and be punctual is a must. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma.
