Group: Land Surveying

Position: Right of Way Project Manager

Location: Terre Haute, IN

Our team of 40+ professionals utilizes the latest tools such as GPS, robotic, and hydrographic surveying equipment. We handle all aspects of land surveying, from land title surveys to topographic, boundary, hydrographic, transportation, utility route surveys, right-of-way services, and construction staking. We seek a Professional Surveyor experienced in municipal public works and civil/site construction projects to manage and supervise survey projects, contribute to proposals, fee negotiations, and contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Manage land survey projects related to transportation/right-of-way, including boundary, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topographic, utility, and construction staking (preferred but not required).
  • Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams.
  • Direct survey crews and technicians.
  • Review work performed by other survey staff.
  • Take ownership of project revenue and performance.
  • Prepare Location Control Route Survey Plats.
  • Review title and encumbrance reports.
  • Prepare Right of Way Parcel Plats and Legal Descriptions.
  • Develop Right of Way Engineering documents, Parcel Documentation, Area Computations, and Fee Taking Memos.
  • Develop Right of Way Plans.
  • Process field data into topographic surveys (preferred but not required).
  • Analyze record documents, establish layout property lines, alignments, and easements (preferred but not required).
  • Download GIS data such as LiDAR and aerial photography from public sources (preferred but not required).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have passed Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam or hold an active Professional Surveyor License in Indiana.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Right of Way surveying experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D (current version).
  • MicroStation knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • INDOT prequalification in Right-of-Way Engineering is a plus.
