Normal 0 false false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Position Purpose: We are seeking an experienced RF Measurement Lead to oversee and coordinate critical laboratory operations while conducting advanced dielectric measurements of specialized materials. This leadership role combines hands-on technical expertise in RF measurement techniques with laboratory management responsibilities, including team coordination, quality assurance, and data management. The successful candidate will lead a team of laboratory technicians while personally conducting sensitive measurements on threat and inert materials, supporting both operational requirements and research Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Leadership & Coordination:
- Coordinate and oversee daily laboratory activities, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization
- Assign tasks and projects to laboratory technicians based on priorities, capabilities, and workload requirements
- Schedule and coordinate service visits from external vendors and calibration services
- Manage laboratory scheduling to maximize equipment utilization and meet project deadlines
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to laboratory personnel
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and laboratory best practices
- Quality Management & Reporting:
- Support and implement quality management systems for laboratory procedures and processes
- Develop, review, and maintain standard operating procedures for RF measurement activities
- Conduct regular quality audits and implement corrective actions as needed
- Prepare clear, concise laboratory activity reports on weekly and monthly schedules
- Track key performance indicators and metrics for laboratory operations
- Ensure traceability and documentation of all measurement activities
- Advanced RF Measurements & Materials Analysis:
- Perform precision dielectric measurements of threat and inert materials using various measurement techniques
- Operate loaded waveguide systems, coaxial probe measurements, and other specialized RF measurement setups
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proven leadership experience with laboratory teams and technical personnel
- Expert knowledge of dielectric measurement techniques including loaded waveguide and coaxial probe methods
- Experience safely handling hazardous or controlled materials in laboratory environments
- Proficiency with computer-aided design software (SolidWorks preferred)
Education/Experience: A bachelor's degree in a science field (i.e., physics, chemistry) from an accredited college or university with at least 6 years of experience in experimental or applied science (physics, chemistry, or related) OR a master's degree in a science field (i.e., physics, chemistry) from an accredited college or university. Certificates/Licenses: None Required Clearance: The ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance and Department of Homeland Security Fitness is required for this position. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervision of the technical activities performed by the more junior staff members assigned to the project is required for this position. Working Conditions/Equipment: The incumbent professional is expected to be present at the work site and/or be available during regular business hours. He/she should also generally be available via e-mail or phone during non-business hours as needed to address critical issues or emergencies.
