JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Specialist will conduct interviews with custodial and non-custodial parents for review and adjustment of court order obligations. Also responsible for employing early intervention strategies to improve child support payment performance.
JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Interviews: In accordance with Federal Regulations, conduct interviews with custodial and non-custodial parents for review of court order obligations pursuant to the South Carolina Child Support Guidelines; determine if adjustment is warranted; assemble supporting documentation for court cases; verify and notarize pleadings, schedule hearings, file papers with the Clerk of Court, and utilize DSS terminal.25% - Essential - Communication & Correspondence: Prepare correspondence and handle telephone inquiries regarding Child Support Services. Process and monitor interstate cases; keep other states informed of all activities. Perform location activities as required.20% - Essential - Intervention Strategies: Participate in research studies related to early intervention strategies to improve the child support payment process and related services; document outcomes and submit monthly results.15% - Essential - Records & Reporting: Provide services in accordance with agency policy. Maintain, in a timely and accurate manner, case records and case narrative recordings (written and electronic) in agency designated systems for documentation and auditing purposes as required by agency policy. Ensure personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared, and disposed of; safeguard systems, equipment, and data. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Education: High School or Equivalent, with relevant program experience. A bachelor's degree may be submitted for the required program experience.

Licenses: Driver's License Class D, normal.
