Revenue Collector to support our client in
Hilton Head Island, SC to enforce and collect payments due related to the Town's Business License and Taxation Ordinances including investigating, auditing, and analyzing financial documents to assess compliance and determining amounts due. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Duties: - Enforces the Town's Business License and Taxation Ordinances
- Investigates and documents compliance with business license, hospitality tax, accommodations tax, and beach preservation fee ordinances
- Investigates and searches for unlicensed businesses and tax accounts
- Contacts existing businesses regarding license renewals and tax account deadlines
- Audits unlicensed and licensed businesses to determine that proper payment has been made
- Determines defensible estimates of amounts owed by non-compliant businesses
- Collaborates with Public Safety with enforcement efforts related to the Town's Business License and Taxation Ordinances.
- Collects outstanding audit balances of taxes and penalties per Town's Ordinance
- Processes NSF checks in accordance with the Town's policies and procedures
Requirements
Required Skills: - Three (3) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver's license.
Required Education: - Associate degree in related field
