Revenue Accounting Clerk Location: Rancho Bernardo Non-Exempt On-site Pay Range: $24-26 Based on experience
JOB SUMMARY: The Revenue Accounting Clerk is responsible for accurate revenue recognition, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting. This role ensures that all revenue transactions are properly recorded and reconciled in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Essential Duties - Perform revenue reconciliation and ensure accuracy of revenue records.
- Post revenue transactions to the accounting system in a timely manner.
- Investigate and resolve revenue discrepancies and variances.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits related to revenue.
- Maintain organized documentation of revenue transactions and reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue.
- Support stores and accounting with revenue questions.
Daily Balancing - Reconcile daily store deposits to the daily bank statement.
- CDR report (customer deposits)
- CASH/CHECKS/OMRON payments
- Magtek (Loft)
- CyberSource (Web orders)
- Podium
- PayPal
- Resolve credit card disputes and fraudulent charges.
Review and Receive Specific Orders from the Stores - Run STA report for tax exempt & log in spreadsheet weekly and scan to OnBase.
- Process any FEMA and Red Cross Invoices.
House Accounts - Review PO application from the company seeking to pay by PO.
- Follow up to make sure the payment is received & posted within agreed-upon terms.
Customer Refunds - Review the request in Kustomer to verify that refund is due.
- Process refund checks as needed by processing through Wells Fargo or sending out inhouse checks.
- Coordinate with the store if the customer needs to pick up their check at a store location.
Consumer Finance Companies - Be the main contact for all finance and leasing companies.
- Ensure completeness of finance documentation.
- Review purchases and chargebacks.
- Confirm that money is received from finance companies.
- Post all payments to appropriate customer accounts.
- Communicate with the stores with any changes or updates to processes and procedures.
Cash Receipts
- Record incoming checks and cash in the GL.
- Deposit checks via Desktop Deposit.
- Deposit cash via courier.
Document Retention - Ensure cages are organized and all documents are properly labeled and stored.
- Coordinate with the 3rd party document retention company.
- Make sure that OnBase is being updated daily and all documents are being indexed appropriately.
Store Support - Assist office clerks with any questions regarding customer accounts in a professional manner.
- Cross-train with stores when necessary.
- Present at office meetings when necessary to communicate any changes or updates to processes and procedures.
