The ReStore Manager is responsible for the overall operations and performance of the Habitat for Humanity NWNJ ReStore, a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public. The ReStore Manageroversees donations, merchandising, sales, staff and volunteer management, customer service, and financial performance, ensuring alignment with Habitat's mission and goals.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Inventory ManagementOversee daily operations of the ReStore, including opening/closing procedures, sales, general maintenance and cash handling.Manage the intake, processing, pricing, and display of donated items.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized sales floor, back room, and loading areas

• Ensure the security system is active and monitored. Attend training as necessary. Perform annual vendor reviews to increase operational efficiencies.

Staff & Volunteer SupervisionRecruit, train, schedule, and supervise ReStore staff and volunteers. Assess and develop them in areas of need and /or interest.Coach others to be an ambassador to Habitat to create and retain additional volunteers.Run weekly “walk throughs” and monthly staff meetingsFoster a positive, mission-aligned work environment with a focus on excellent customer service.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.Maintain records of employee and volunteer hours.Oversee timecards and Process Payroll.Perform annual reviews.Donor & Community EngagementDevelop and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, and community partners to ensure a steady flow of high-quality donations.Oversee donation pickups and maintain donor records.Represent Habitat for Humanity NWNJ in a professional and enthusiastic manner in the community.Financial OversightMeet or exceed monthly revenue goals and expense budgets.Prepare sales reports and analyze data to improve performance.Monitor pricing strategies to maximize sales while maintaining affordability.Oversee bank deposits.Marketing & PromotionsCollaborate with staff to implement marketing, advertising, and social media strategies to drive traffic and donations.Organize in-store events and promotions to increase community engagement.QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in retail management, nonprofit operations, or related field.Minimum of 3 years of retail management experience, preferably in a thrift or nonprofit environment.Strong leadership, ethics, communication, and customer service skills.Proven ability to manage people, budgets, and logistics.Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office.Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in a warehouse environment.Willingness to work some nights and weekends.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Must pass Criminal Background Check and Sexual Offender CheckWillingness to make cold calls for donation purposes.Can work outdoors including during inclement weather.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with volunteers and community stakeholders.Knowledge of Habitat for Humanity's mission and values.Bilingual in English and Spanish.Email resumes to
