Restorative Justice Coordinator- Cadwell RYDC - Cadwell, GA (CCR)

The Restorative Justice Coordinator will lead the implementation and oversight of restorative justice practices within a secure juvenile justice facility. This role is focused on facilitating healing-centered dialogue, accountability, and reintegration among youth residents, staff, victims, and families. The coordinator will work closely with facility leadership, case managers, security and behavioral health staff to embed restorative principles into the facility's culture and disciplinary processes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage restorative justice programs tailored to youth in secure confinement.
  • Facilitate restorative circles, victim-offender dialogues, and conflict resolution sessions.
  • Collaborate with caseworkers, mental health staff, correctional officers, and families to support youth accountability and emotional development.
  • Provide training and coaching to facility staff on restorative justice practices, trauma-informed care, and conflict de-escalation.
  • Assist in integrating restorative approaches into behavior management and disciplinary protocols.
  • Support the reentry process by helping youth make amends and rebuild relationships with victims, families, and communities.
  • Maintain detailed records of restorative processes while ensuring compliance with confidentiality and facility policies.
  • Collect data, analyze data on program implementation and evaluate program outcomes, and prepare reports for facility & Division leadership.
  • Case Management: Manage and track restorative justice cases, from initial referrals to completion, ensuring appropriate interventions and support for all parties involved.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with administrators, teachers, counselors, and community partners to develop and implement restorative justice programs.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community members, fostering a culture of respect and accountability.
  • Advocate for the implementation and sustainability of restorative justice practices within the facility

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of job-related experience; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Social Services Program Coord 1 (SSP030) or position equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience working in restorative justice, conflict resolution, or juvenile justice settings.
  • Training and certification in restorative justice practices highly preferred.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approaches, adolescent development, and youth behavioral health.
  • Strong facilitation, mediation, and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work within the structure and security protocols of a juvenile justice facility.
  • Excellent communication, cultural competency, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working directly with justice-involved youth.
  • Strong background with facilitation and mediation skills.
  • Strong background in training.
  • Familiarity with secure facility procedures, safety protocols, and behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.
  • Knowledge of state juvenile justice regulations and reentry planning practices.
  • Masters Degree in a related field: Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Forensic Psychology, School Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, School Counseling, Criminal Justice or a directly related field.
