Vice President of Human Resources – Restaurant Group
Location: Relocation to Rocky Mount, NC
Compensation: Up to $180,000 base + bonus
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Human Resources to lead the HR function for a growing, multi-unit restaurant group. This executive role will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership, driving HR initiatives that support organizational growth, operational excellence, and a strong employee culture across all restaurant locations.
The VP of HR will oversee all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, retention, employee relations, compliance, training & development, compensation, benefits, and workforce planning. This individual will play a critical role in building scalable HR systems and programs while ensuring alignment with the company's mission, values, and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team on all HR and people-related matters.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's goals and growth initiatives.
- Drive organizational culture, employee engagement, and retention strategies to reduce turnover and strengthen workforce stability.
- Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead recruitment strategies to attract top restaurant and corporate talent.
- Build talent pipelines for management and hourly roles across multiple locations.
- Partner with operations leaders to forecast staffing needs and implement effective workforce planning.
- Employee Relations & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Create and oversee HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Manage sensitive employee relations issues with discretion, consistency, and fairness.
- Training & Development
- Design and implement leadership development programs for managers and high-potential employees.
- Champion ongoing training initiatives to improve skills, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives throughout the organization.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee competitive compensation structures, incentive programs, and performance management systems.
- Partner with finance and operations to manage labor costs and optimize HR-related expenses.
- Evaluate and enhance employee benefits offerings to improve retention and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree or HR certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Experience in multi-unit restaurant, hospitality, or retail industries strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead HR strategy in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Track record of driving initiatives that improve culture, retention, and organizational performance.
