Restaurant Manager Madison Ave / UES

Island Restaurant is a beloved neighborhood gem on Madison Avenue, known for warm hospitality, loyal regulars, and a long-tenured team. We re looking for a poised, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead service and daily ops not to disrupt, but to elevate.

This is a guest-facing, floor-focused leadership role. You ll work closely with ownership and our seasoned Maitre D to keep service flowing, the team aligned, and our systems running smoothly.

Schedule

- 5 days/week (Thurs Mon) - Tues & Wed off - Typical hours: 11:30 AM 9:30 PM (Sat & Sun start at 11 AM)

Key Responsibilities

Lead service on the floor: host, greet, float, problem-solve Build guest relationships, especially with regulars Set calm, composed tone for the team Support Maitre D with pacing, seating, and flow Manage FOH schedule (7shifts), clocks, payroll Handle light inventory & bar ordering Troubleshoot POS, tech, menu updates (ChowNow, website) Pre-shift huddles, light hiring/training support

2+ years FOH management in NYC restaurant Guest-forward, steady, and team-oriented Willing to jump in where needed Great communicator, strong follow-through Comfortable stepping into a seasoned team

Compensation & Perks
