Respiratory Therapist Respiratory Therapy Department PRN positions available (These positions are required to work both day and night shifts, weekends and holidays) Job Summary: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Department Specific Responsibilities:
- Exercises concern for patient's welfare.
- Prepares and administers patient medications.
- Provides oxygen administration.
- Performs emergency procedures
- Monitors appropriate record systems. Trouble shoots procedures and equipment.
Education Requirements: Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of respiratory therapy. Certification/Licensure Requirements: Must be a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Mississippi. Must be registered as an CRT or an RRT with the NBRC. Must maintain certifications in BLS and ACLS. Experience/Qualification Skills: Ability to read and interpret physician orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Reasoning Ability: Must have the ability to apply non-judgmental reasoning capabilities whenever necessary when dealing with patients, visitors, and staff. Critical thinking is a must. Must have reasonable reflective thinking focused on deciding what to believe or do.
