Overview

Our client is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a day shift travel assignment at a leading short-term acute care teaching hospital in Maryland. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong adult critical care experience looking to grow within a supportive and high-acuity environment.

Job Details

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Expected to work rotating holidays
• On-Call: None
• Local Rate: Different as it applies within 60 miles of the facility
• Charting System: Cerner
• Facility Type: Short-term acute care, teaching hospital
• Vaccination Requirement: Flu vaccine required for all employees

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RRT experience in Adult Critical Care
• At least 1 completed travel assignment
• Active Maryland State License
• Certifications: BLS, CRT or RRT (ACLS preferred)
• ED experience preferred

Special Equipment Used

• Ventilators: Draeger V500, Servo U
• Familiarity with Draeger VN500 preferred

Job Responsibilities

• Airway management: suctioning, extubation, tracheostomy care, nasal/oral airway placement
• Pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection
• ABG drawing and interpretation
• High-flow oxygen therapies: BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, Trach collar
• Ventilator management and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
• Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage umbilical blood gases

Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, Xopenex

Delivery Methods:

Aerosol masks, Trach setups, Nebulizers, Metered Dose Inhalers, Medihalers

Preferred Skills:

Bronchoscopy, Bicarbonate, Inhaled Flolan, Ketamine, Mucomyst, Nitric Oxide (iNO), Theophylline.
