Primary Scheduled Hours: Days, 12 hour shifts, 72 hours per pay period Job Summary: Provides respiratory assessment, support, treatment or diagnostic test for acute care, emergency room or outpatient as needed. Essential Job Functions:
- Provide emergency care, such as artificial respiration, or assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Monitor patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, or blood chemistry changes, and consult with physician if adverse reactions occur.
- Obtains ABGs, EKGs and other testing as appropriate.
- Set up and operate devices, such as, high flow oxygen, Bipap, mechanical ventilators, environmental control systems, or aerosol generators, following specified parameters of treatment.
- Support clinical team regarding area of expertise through training or instruction.
- Work as part of a team of physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals to manage patient care by assisting with medical procedures or related duties.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients' pertinent identification and therapy information.
- Documenting, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form to maintain patient records.
Education Background and Experience Requirements Minimum Education: Associate degree required from an Accredited Respiratory Care Program Required Licensure / Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC) to be kept up to date, Respiratory Therapist WA license, BLS, ACLS/PALS/NRP within 90 days Required Experience: Critical Care Experience Professional Requirements:
- Maintain regulatory requirements
- Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines.
- Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner.
