Are you a current Respiratory Therapy student eager to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and dynamic healthcare environment? UPMC Cole is looking for a dedicated and motivated Respiratory Care Assistant to join our team!

This is a flexible day and evening shift position—perfect for students balancing coursework and clinical experience. While no holiday shifts are required, some weekend availability may be needed.

What You'll Do:

Under the guidance of a Respiratory Therapist IV, you'll support both patient care and equipment management. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing respiratory equipment
• Replacing oxygen and compressed gas cylinders for patients of all ages
• Managing inventory and distributing respiratory care supplies and medications
• Assembling and stocking respiratory supplies throughout the hospital
• Assisting with equipment tracking, maintenance, and repair coordination
• Supporting emergency procedures, including CPR, when needed
• Ensuring proper documentation and equipment identification
• Maintaining sterility and cleanliness according to departmental protocols

What We're Looking For:

• Current enrollment in a Respiratory Therapy program
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Basic computer proficiency

High school diploma or equivalent.

Enrollment in a post-secondary education program preferred. Preference given to students enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program.

Must be able to lift equipment and or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds and push/handle equipment weighing up to 100 pounds.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
