JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Conferences and Institutes is seeking Youth Program Leaders for the Summer Academy for the Blind and Visually Impaired, scheduled for June 16-28, 2024.
Youth Program Leaders are responsible for the 24-hour supervision and safety of minors participating in this program. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of daily program administration, such as youth compliance policies, emergency response, communication with the Program Director and Program Manager, medication management, and oversight of participant health information. Leaders may also assist in developing instructional content and delivering lessons and activities.
Leaders must monitor the safety, whereabouts, and actions of participants at all times, including non-instructional periods. They should be able to identify and respond to issues related to participant interactions, behavior, mental health, and acclimation to the environment. Leaders must be prepared to act quickly and calmly in any situation, handle sensitive issues, address behavioral concerns, and follow notification protocols promptly.
