- The Residential Staff Scheduler is responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care at the CARES Center.
- This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively use scheduling software, workforce management tools, and reporting systems.
- The Scheduler will collaborate with the Lead Residential Care Specialists and the Residential Life Coordinator to meet staffing needs, ensure compliance with staffing ratios and regulatory requirements, and respond quickly to coverage changes or scheduling conflicts.
- He/she will serve as a member of the Residential Life team and will work with others on the team to meet shared goals.
Job Responsibilities: Administrative and Scheduling
- Responsible for ensuring that all shifts are fully staffed every day using the scheduling system and other resources as necessary.
- Must be willing to work after hours and on weekends as necessary to ensure shifts are fully covered if not completed during normal working hours.
- Work with Lead Residential Care Specialists and Residential Life Manager to allocate resources to ensure provision of treatment 24 hours, 7 days a week while limiting excessive overtime usage.
- Utilize the provided scheduling service to clearly and effectively communicate schedules to RCS staff and supervisors.
- Utilize additional resources as necessary to assist with fully staffing all shifts and effectively communicating schedules to appropriate personnel.
- Update the Master Schedule to ensure accurate records of who worked with which youth every day.
- Attend team meetings as scheduled.
Direct Care Responsibilities
- Coordinate appropriate scheduling and staff for the milieu. Work with Residential Care Shift Leaders to allocate resources to ensure provision of treatment 24 hours, 7 days a week while limiting excessive overtime usage.
- Provide transportation for clients, as needed, in an agency vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
- Respond appropriately to clients' out of control behavior utilizing safe physical intervention in accordance to MAB skills when necessary.
- Assure the safety of the facility and clients by reporting environment of care concerns/problems to Assistant CARES Director and Maintenance Tech through appropriate reporting methods.
- Participate in scheduled training opportunities to meet and maintain the specific staff training requirements of licensing and accrediting agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree in healthcare or business-related field is required. A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or business-related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Must have the ability to manage competing priorities and respond quickly to changing needs.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a high-paced, dynamic environment.
- Previous operations or administrative experience required. Previous scheduling experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to be covered by Canopy's insurance provider.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English, and be able to communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner.
