    Position Overview

    The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Residential Services Supervisor for the Murray Developmental Center located in Centralia, Illinois to direct, coordinate, schedule, assign and review work of direct care personnel in the provision of non-professional services, programs and activities for residents who are developmentally disabled, on an assigned shift and on an assigned home in a 24-hour operated facility. Serves as a member of an Interdisciplinary Team. Assists in the formulation and implementation of the Assessment/Habilitation Planning/Program and Service Implementation process. Makes rounds of all unit's numerous times on an assigned shift to verify that living units and individuals service areas meet Center, department, and regulatory standards.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Directs, coordinates, schedules, assigns and reviews work of direct care personnel.
    • Serves as working supervisor.
    • Makes rounds of all unit's numerous times on an assigned shift to verify that living units and individuals service areas meet Center, department, and regulatory standards.
    • Serves as a member of an Interdisciplinary Team.
    • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to an Associate of Arts Degree, with coursework in the health and human services fields, plus two years direct care experience in a mental health/rehabilitation residential care setting.
    • OR Requires two years resident care supervisory experience in a mental health/rehabilitation residential care setting.
    • *Qualifying state employees in the Upward Mobility Program shall have the state requirements of this classification waived by successful completion of specific proficiency tests and training programs.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Two (2) years of professional experience supervising staff.
    • Two (2) years of professional experience assessing operational needs and delegating staff appropriately in a public or private organization.
    • Two (2) years of professional experience communicating effectively orally and in writing.
    • Two (2) years of professional experience working with individuals with physical disabilities and addressing the behaviors and problems.
    • One (1) year of professional experience performing quality assurance activities.
    • Two (2) years of experience in guiding and training staff.
    Conditions of Employment
    • Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
    • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. This also requires the ability to work in a 24 hour “on call” capacity.
    • Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
    • Requires the ability to travel in performance of job duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
    • Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
    • Requires the ability to pass the IDHS background check.
    • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
