The report contains information on security policies as well as crime and fire statistics for the University.Residential Life PLV Office Assistant Position DescriptionThe Residential Life PLV Office Assistants (OAs) are integral members of the Office of Residential Life PLV. Residential Life PLV employs Office Assistants who are responsible for working in the Residential Life office during University business hours. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director, the OA is responsible for providing quality customer service assistance to all students, parents, faculty, staff, and guests of Pace University and administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the OA will also be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. They will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned. The Office Assistant assists in promoting a safe and comfortable residential environment, supports the day-to-day functions of the Residential Life office, and serves as a Residential Life PLV and University representative.Administrative Tasks: You will be responsible for creating a positive office community. Listed below are general administrative responsibilities. You must complete these tasks accurately, thoroughly, and promptly.* Perform administrative tasks including answering phones as needed, making copies, making deliveries, filing, etc.* Deliveries to/from campus offices* Post/remove flyers as needed* Create bulletin boards as needed for the community and office* Assist the central office staff, Residence Directors and Assistant Residence Directors with special projectsCustomer Service Responsibilities:* Act as a point of contact for students with questions about residential life PLV, housing and the University* Maintain a professional environment in the community office* Direct residents to appropriate resources and inform supervisors as neededAttitude: You must establish and maintain a positive relationship with your supervisor, professional staff, student staff, and fellow OA colleagues. You must also develop a positive working relationship with Housing Operations and Residential Life PLV and our partners.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required* Strong administrative skills.* Ability to be timely.* Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.* Ability to prepare and print routine correspondence, labels, and/or other basic written material.* Word processing and/or data entry skills.* Skill in the use of operating basic office equipment.* People skills, this position will spend a lot of time making or maintaining contact with others face-to-face, via telephone, etcConditions of Employment* Failure to meet any expectations as outlined in this document can lead to job action or termination from this positionMinimum Job Requirements* Be work Study Eligible* Be enrolled in classes on campus* Be able to work 5-15 hours a week and clock in accurately* Maintain and keep a consistent work schedule* Ability to attend mandatory training* Previous leadership or office administration experience preferred* This position is 100% in-person with no opportunity for remote work* This position is ideal for students looking for their first on campus job opportunity
