As a Residential Life Mentor, you will live with and guide high school seniors in residence buildings, nurturing their development with essential life skills crucial for their futures—whether they are pursuing post-secondary education, entering the military, or embarking on their careers.

Your role will include:

  • Mentoring students in life skills such as self-responsibility, goal setting, time management, personal finance, and interpersonal communication.
  • Organizing and supervising engaging evening and weekend activities.
  • Facilitating student participation in Sunday chapel services.
  • Collaborating with fellow staff to continuously enhance student programming.
  • Providing support in student homes as needed.

This is a year-round position with a competitive annual salary starting at $48,799, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Housing and utilities will be provided, and you may also be eligible for up to $2,800 in relocation assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing to operate a 9-passenger van.
  • Experience in youth residential settings preferred.
  • Background in mentoring or teaching diverse youth from under-served communities desired.
  • Proven experience in life skills training is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with a capacity for conflict resolution and inspiration.
  • Strong organizational abilities and adaptability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google applications, internet, and social media.
  • This is a live-in position with specific parameters: only married spouses can reside in the apartment, overnight guests must have prior approval, and no pets, smoking, or weapons are permitted. Alcohol consumption is not allowed while on duty.
  • High integrity is essential, as all MHS staff serve as role models for our students.
