Job Description: As a licensed Residential Electrician, you'll play a vital role in performing electrical installations, and maintenance. You'll have the opportunity to help train and develop the next generation of electricians by sharing your expertise. Key Responsibilities
- Layout of electrical per plans and local codes
- Insure all electric is installed per plan and code
- Ask questions to determine severity of electrical problem
- Choose an array of tools and materials according to the repair work that needs to be done
- Confer with customers to determine their electrical repair needs
- Read and interpret blueprints and cabinet details to insure correct location of electrical
- Follow architectural drawings to determine installation of wiring systems
- Replace faulty wires and parts and ensure that the new ones are in proper working order
- Inspect electrical systems and components to determine condition and identify needed repairs
- Install a variety of electrical system components such as lighting, switches, circuits, panels and outlets
- Identify hazards or defects in electrical systems by performing periodic inspections
- Plan layout of electrical wiring and equipment keeping in mind local building codes and project specifications
- Direct the work of apprentices to ensure that work orders are handled properly
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Valid Texas Wireman or Journeyman license required
- 2 plus years' experience in Residential electrical construction
- Clean driving history
- Possess and maintain required tools
- Willing to undergo a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen
- High school diploma or equivalent
