Job Title: Residential Counselor - ABH Location: Upland, PA 19015 Program: LTSR Residential BH Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Per Diem Pool Compensation rate: $22-30/h Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Counselor to join our team at our Long-Term Structured Residential (LTSR) Behavioral Health program in Upland, PA. As a Residential Counselor, you will provide essential support to individuals with mental health diagnoses, assisting them in their daily living, promoting independence, and helping them achieve their personal goals. This is a per diem position, allowing you to work on an as-needed basis with flexible scheduling. The hours of operation are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, medication reminders, meal preparation, and household chores.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to residents, helping them manage behavioral health challenges.
- Implement and monitor individualized care plans for each resident.
- Facilitate group activities and therapeutic sessions.
- Document progress and any behavioral changes in residents' charts.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents within the facility.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, nurses, and program supervisors.
- Help residents develop coping skills and promote independent living skills.
- Ensure that the facility maintains a supportive and welcoming environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or residential counseling is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
- Valid PA driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Clearance for background checks (criminal and child abuse) and drug screening.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of mental health treatment modalities.
- Experience working in a residential or group home setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
