Salary:

Starting at $19.60 an hour (Non-exempt)

About the Position:

To meet the health, welfare and safety needs of the residents, with direct supervision from the Unit Manager.

A Typical Day as a Residential Counselor:

  • Interact with all residents; assist them in completing the daily routine
  • Document all services delivered and track progress and plan for achievement of established goals
  • Dispense all medications and treatments to residents in strict accordance with all medical protocols
  • Complete assigned duties relative to hall functioning and ensure residents' adherence to all residential facility rules and regulations

Work Hours:

3:00-11:00PM

Does the Following Apply to You?

  • HS diploma, with relevant experience with youth and families (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Social Work, Human Service, or related field (Preferred)
  • Child Welfare Experience (Preferred)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Completion of DCFS criminal background check and fingerprinting
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Obtain an insured vehicle
  • At least three years of driving experience with a valid driver's license
  • Successful completion of DCFS Foundations Training to obtain Child Welfare Licensure
