The Residential Clinician provides treatment to those individuals receiving services from Vanderheyden. Treatment includes but is not limited to: individual, family and group therapy. Clinician is responsible for those tasks which require skills, judgement and decisions that involve clinical knowledge, training and experience. The Clinician is responsible for planning, implementing and guiding treatment in all aspects of daily living during the individuals' placement at Vanderheyden. Monday - Friday, Full-time position. Primary Duties and Essential FunctionsComply with all requirements of 291 Licensure.Compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations to include NYSED GuidelinesParticipate in the intake and planning process which includes reviewing pre-placement material and participating pre-placement interviews and assessments as requested by the Vice President of Operations.Provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning for all assigned individuals.Provides formal individual therapy to all assigned individuals on a weekly basis.Provides formal family therapy to all assigned families on a bi-weekly basisDevelops and facilitates weekly group therapy sessions in the following areas.Anger ManagementSocial SkillsSubstance Abuse EducationHealthy Relationships/Sexuality EducationProvides crisis intervention on an as needed basis.Conducts mediation on an as needed basis.Provides on-going communication with the individuals' family/guardians regarding medication and all other matters of a clinical nature.Understands different views, experience, orientation and cultural differences and takes into account when planning for treatment.Monitors communication log and individual logs for all assigned individuals.Chairs treatment team meetings to facilitate the development, on-going assessment and modifications of individuals Comprehensive Treatment Plans.Attend CSE and school related meetings as necessary.Attends weekly medication reviews with the agency Psychiatrist.Attend weekly Clinical Consult Meeting with Case Coordinator and House Manager.Complete any case Coordinators responsibilities deemed necessary in the absence of the Case Coordinator.Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings.Completes IEP goals and grading.Completes progress notes regarding clinical sessions and inter and intra-agency contacts that reflect services offered, individual and family response as well as progress in treatment.
