Description

Overall Responsibility: Arora Engineers, LLC has multiple openings throughout the US. Responsibilities include making extensive and comprehensive on-site observations of the work in progress, determining if the work is proceeding in accordance with the contract documents, and making field checks of materials and equipment incorporated into the work.

Essential Functions:

  • Be the Owner's Agent or Representative on site.
  • Monitor the subcontractors performing the work through the prime contractor.
  • Review the progress schedule, schedule of shop drawing submittals, and schedule of values prepared by the contractor.
  • Attend meetings with the contractor, such as pre-construction conferences, job progress meetings, and other project-related meetings, and prepare and circulate minutes.
  • Serve as the owner's liaison with the contractor, primarily through the contractor's superintendents, and assist in understanding the contract documents.
  • Record receipt dates of shop drawings and samples.
  • Receive samples from the contractor and notify the design professional for examination.
  • Advise the design professional and contractor about work requiring shop drawings or samples.
  • Report in writing work that is unsatisfactory, faulty, or defective, and advise on corrections or rejections.
  • Verify that tests, start-ups, and training are conducted properly, maintaining records and reporting details.
  • Accompany government inspectors and report inspection results.
  • Request clarifications of contract documents when needed and communicate them to the contractor.
  • Evaluate contractor suggestions for modifications and report recommendations.
  • Maintain organized files of all project documents.
  • Maintain a daily logbook of site activities, weather, visitors, and decisions.
  • Record contractor, subcontractor, and supplier contact information.
  • Provide periodic progress reports to the design professional.
  • Consult with the design professional before major tests and work phases.
  • Draft change orders and gather backup materials for review.
  • Report accidents immediately and in writing.
  • Review payment applications and ensure they align with work completed and materials delivered.
  • Verify that manuals and data are complete and in accordance with the contract before final payment.
  • Prepare a list of items for correction before substantial completion and conduct final inspections to confirm completion.

Secondary Functions:

  • Experience representing the owner and client in project meetings.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing project reports.
  • Ability to communicate project results effectively through discussions, presentations, and documentation.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience as a Resident Project Representative, Engineer, Manager, or Owner's Representative.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with team members and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of project construction management experience.
  • Desired experience in airport and transit terminal facilities, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Registration preferred - PE, RA, CCM, or PMP - but not required.
