Job DetailsJob LocationRWS El Chante - Oakland, CAPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$20.67 - $21.29 HourlyJob ShiftAnyDescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW:La Familia's Recovery and Wellness Department has provided SUD services for Alameda County residents since the 1970s. Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services (BHCS) is in the process of implementing the Drug Medi-Cal Organized Delivery System (ODS), a new approach to integrate care for individuals with co-occurring disorders. La Familia is excited about continuing and expanding our SUD clinical services under this new system and becoming a leader in the treatment of co-occurring disorders. This role will uphold and champion the agency's mission, vision, and values and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.Schedule:Monday-Friday 3:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Provide supervision and monitoring of residents.Ensure that residents comply with schedules.Make written notes as needed to document interventions, client behavior, and treatment progress.Answer the telephone and the door.Detect and implement appropriate disciplinary reports and actions on client misbehavior and rule violations.Perform some filing and other general office duties.Perform routine maintenance duties as needed.Able to think and act quickly and efficiently in emergencies.Comply with all safety policies and procedures, including workplace safety, reporting work related injuries, and preventing potential safety risks for staff, clients and others.Respond to telephone calls pertaining to crisis, request for referrals, and requests for alcohol and drug information.Make medication available to clients during Medication Times.Other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent.Bilingual Spanish and English, or at least Spanish proficient.Knowledge of alcohol and drug prevention and recovery/ treatment programs and principles;Knowledge of the effects of alcohol and drug abuse;Must demonstrate ability to understand client needs and work with adult men, particularly Latinos.Ability to manage client issues which may occur in recovery from drugs and mental health issues.CPR and First Aid certification (can be provided by La Familia)Experience working with adults in a residential settingAccurately and appropriately document communications, behaviors and routine facility events as they occur.Ability to use the equipment necessary to complete the responsibilities of the job.Non-Profit and Community Based Organization experience highly desirable.Demonstrates and models excellent customer service orientation, especially in the ability to interact with people at all levels within and outside the agency.Thinks independently and can make informed decisions when needed.Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties.Proficient using MS Office products, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.Acquires or maintains proficiency in using Google Drive products, including Docs, Sheets, and Forms.Valid CA Driver's licenseAuto insurance: Personal vehicle may be used for business related purposes; it is recommended you inform your auto insurance carrier.
