The Resident Engineer will play a crucial role in overseeing two NYC Parks Department projects focused on the reconstruction of city sidewalks and tree health. This position involves visiting multiple sites each day, managing both small and large contractors, and maintaining effective communication with clients. The Resident Engineer will be responsible for reviewing contract line items and providing oversight for activities such as saw cutting, excavation, planting, concrete restoration, and guaranteeing punch list items.
ResponsibilitiesThe work environment involves projects throughout the five boroughs, with a likelihood of being assigned to one borough on Parks Department jobs. Work hours are from 7 AM to 3 PM. The role offers a long-term opportunity with potential for growth within the organization. Activities are performed on land level, with no climbing or pruning required, and the job does not involve active roadways.
