ENTRY-LEVEL!The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Pawling is currently seeking Resident Assistants. Our skilled team ensures exceptional care in a safe, welcoming environment, helping individuals achieve their highest level of independence and well-being.Position Overview:We are currently seeking Resident Assistants to join our team. This entry-level position is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in the medical field and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents. As a Resident Assistant, you will work closely with the nursing and interdisciplinary team to provide care and support to our residents.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the transport of residents who do not require weight-bearing assistance.
  • Pass out clothing protectors before mealtime.
  • Distribute meal trays and assist with meal set-up as needed.
  • Provide dining assistance to residents as necessary.
  • Make beds, straighten rooms, and refill water pitchers.
  • Round on units to ensure cleanliness.
  • At the end of each shift, check shower rooms, kitchen area, clean and soiled utility rooms, and other shared areas on the unit for cleanliness.
  • Answer call bells promptly and professionally.
  • Complete any other duties assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Solid moral character, patience, and a positive attitude toward the geriatric population.
  • Ability and willingness to follow direction and learn new concepts and procedures.
  • Completion of general orientation and in-servicing, including hand washing, infection control, transporting, bed making, tray set-up, and body mechanics.
  • Must be able to remain on feet almost 100% of the workday.
  • Must have a full range of motion to allow for kneeling, reaching, pulling, etc., while performing job duties.
  • Physically able to lift or move up to 35-lbs without assistance.
