Make a bigger differencePURPOSE: The Jewish Boards Youth and Family Division supports domestic violence survivors and their family members. Using a non-judgmental, trauma-informed approach, staff guide the residents to create and meet personalized recovery goals, to stabilize their families, to develop independent living skills, and to plan effectively to be able to live in a healthy and secure manner. Our work is guided by principles that emphasize the critical importance of safe and stable housing, utilize a culturally competent and anti-racist lens, and respect the dignity and legitimacy of each individuals journey. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Residence Manager is responsible for the supervision and guidance of all Direct Support staff (case assistants), ensuring that proper coverage is maintained and that appropriate training is provided. The Residence Manager works in a residential Domestic Violence program servicing adults and children. Supports the clinical staff in their work with residential clients, and provides services to those clients within the scope of program regulations and agency mission.KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Directly supervise and provide supervision for all Direct Support Professionals (DSP). Track Staff Attendance and uphold agency policy and procedures regarding time and attendance. Weekly group or one to one super vision with direct reports. Attend weekly supervision with Program Director. Provide training to Milieu staff as needed. Provide crisis intervention services as needed. Plan with administrative staff, the objectives and scope of the department. Participates in audit preparations. Coordinates the childrens program. Monitors Inventory. Ensures that monthly Fire Drills are completed and documented. Supervises apartment/facility inspections to ensure that all safety and sanitary conditions are maintained. Ensurethattheresidentsunderstandtherulesandregulationsofthefacilityinwhichtheyarehoused. Monitors and ensures that security is maintained within the facility. Monitors the daily log to ensure compliance. Participates in regular staff meetings and trainings. Completes regular and timely documentation of all client interactions, including informational notes; completes incident report as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Team Process: Participate in regular staff meetings and trainings. May be asked to travel to some off-site meetings and trainings. Participate in planning and execution of special and holiday events. Documentation: Completes regular and timely documentation of all resident interactions, including progress and informational notes. Complete/Files incident reports as appropriate. Facilitates roommate meetings. Ensure Fire Drills are complete document to upload in the system Other duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES for the position include: Excellent client engagement skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail Ability to work independently as well as with a team Ability to travel to visit clients in apartments or to escort clients. Valid drivers license and willingness to drive agency van preferred. EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIRED: BA in related discipline required 3 years of experience in a Residential Domestic Violence Program preferred Additional Qualifications Needed: Willingness to work with a population who have survived the trauma of Domestic Violence population, many with experiences of homelessness, mental illness and substance use. Compassion and respect for vulnerable individuals. Patience and understanding for the sometimes-slow process of stabilization an recovery. COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED: Familiarity with working in Windows environment Ability and willingness to learn new systems and application softwareVISUAL AND MANUAL DEXIERITY: Engage in physical activities with the residence Ability to read paper and electronic documents Ability to perform data entry into various computer programs as needed WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL EFFORT Ability visits residents in apartments or to escort residents in the community.
