The West Side YMCA is seeking a Residence Director who will provide leadership and direction to the successful operation of the Branch Inclusionary Housing by leading and demonstrating outstanding hospitality and fulfilling related job responsibilities. These responsibilities include supervising all aspects of West Side Y's Inclusionary Housing to achieve service, satisfaction, compliance, and retention. The Residence Director will ensure excellent customer service to our guests and tenants at all times, and provide leadership and management of tenants by ensuring compliance with lease terms, laws, and regulations. They will collaborate with the Guest Rooms and Residence Director, Reservations Director, and NYC agencies to maintain a safe, quality experience for all tenants and guests, providing additional support as needed to the department. The Residence Director will uphold the Y's mission and values in dealings with staff and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage all daily operations of Inclusionary Housing.
  • Develop, track, and control the Inclusionary Housing budget according to guidelines.
  • Ensure all tenants and guests receive premier service by adhering to policies and industry standards, modeling outstanding hospitality.
  • Follow procedures for payments, cash handling, transactions, and record-keeping.
  • Support Guest Rooms and Front Desk staff by maintaining knowledge of policies and procedures, and perform basic tasks when necessary.
  • Uphold all policies and demonstrate YMCA's core values: Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Honesty.
  • Audit daily paperwork and reports for accuracy; review accounts receivable and Inclusionary Housing files.
  • Manage inventory of furniture, items, and supplies.
  • Attend training sessions to improve service delivery and support staff development.
  • Coordinate with Properties and housekeeping to maintain housing quality.
  • Implement systems to maximize productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Build relationships with legal counsel to ensure compliance with laws.
  • Oversee resident intake, property management, safety, and crisis procedures.
  • Establish relationships with social service agencies for tenant support.
  • Perform other duties to support departments and branch operations.
  • Desired Skills & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Property Management, Hotel Management, Business Management, or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
    • 5+ years in residence/landlord/property management, including staff and budget supervision.
    • Experience working with residents/tenants and knowledge of NYC housing laws.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AS400, ADP, Oracle Connect.
    • Knowledge of adult social work and NYC Affordable Housing programs is a plus.
    • Availability to work weekends and flexible hours, including evenings.
