Role Synopsis
We are hiring for a Houston-based individual contributor Reservoir Quality (RQ) position within the global Reservoir Quality-Biostratigraphy Specialist Team. The team provides deep technical expertise that is applied globally across bp's Exploration and Reservoir Development portfolio.
This role aims to strengthen the RQ discipline & capability within the Subsurface Team through technical project delivery, coaching junior staff, internal course/seminar delivery, and innovation. The individual will deliver RQ projects from start to finish for Access, Exploration/Appraisal and Reservoir Development activities from our worldwide portfolio. This includes providing advice on analytical data collection, Q/C of vendor data, compiling relevant data from various sources into a relational database, interpret and integrate geological data in order to reveal processes controlling RQ on a local and regional scale, and develop forward models for rock property prediction. The individual will collaborate across teams, particularly sedimentology, basin modeling, petrophysics, and reservoir engineering, to provide quantitative insights into reservoir deliverability within a framework of risk and uncertainty description. This role is best suited for experienced reservoir quality geologist with a history of business delivery.
Key Accountabilities
Education: MSc Geology degree; preferably PhD level.
