Role Overview:

The Associate R&D Chemist develops innovative products and supports key initiatives to ensure successful launches. This role provides technical expertise to Sales, Marketing, EHS, Quality, and Production teams.

Job Details

  • Location: Elkhorn, WI
  • Seeking mid-level or senior-level chemists. Relevant industry experience, in addition to academic background, is required.
  • Experience with pulp and/or paper product industry is highly desirable.
  • Target salary: approximately $80,000 - $100,000 per year, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot customer issues and manage multiple projects independently.
  • Collaborate with external manufacturers on prototypes and samples.
  • Stay updated on scientific advancements and drive process improvements.
  • Develop protocols, technical reports, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in new product development and facilitate commercial transitions.
  • Support employee training, onboarding, and process improvements.
  • Manage vendor and material approvals, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Coordinate external lab testing and conduct batch validation.
  • Maintain lab records, calibrate equipment, and prepare reagents/formulations.
  • Assist with investigations, customer complaints, and batch record reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years of relevant employment experience.
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
