This is temporary Civil Service position that will conduct research in the Sarkar Lab in Biomedical Engineering. Duties include: Protein engineering technique development (60%)Establish new amplification methods in the lab for complex m. RNA/c. DNA templates and libraries. Integrate new amplification methods into proof-of-principle cell-free protein selection campaigns. Collaborate to facilitate integration of these amplification methods in new cell-free protein selection campaigns with naive c. DNA libraries. General lab management, maintenance, and communication (40%)Contribute to functioning of the lab by leading several facets of lab management and equipment maintenance. Actively communicate and coordinate other distributed lab management and maintenance tasks. Participate in lab meetings and scientifically engage with other lab members.
