We are seeking a Research Fellow - Masculinities to join our New York, Los Angeles, or Toronto team.
You will:
Conduct novel research as part of the men's health and mental health research team within the Mo Institute.Design (and co-design with partners), conduct or oversee/guide research studies related to masculinities and health, employing qualitative and quantitative methods (including longitudinal studies).Collaborate with cross-functional teams across research, advocacy, partnerships, and marketing to develop proposals, ethics submissions, and secure funding.Prepare research reports, academic papers, and other knowledge products for publication and conferences.Analyze data using appropriate statistical techniques and interpret findings.Manage research data collection, ensuring quality and ethical standards.Lead research projects, ensuring timely delivery of objectives.Stay updated on developments in men's health and masculinities research.Communicate findings to stakeholders, policymakers, and the public through various channels.Ensure all activities comply with ethical standards and regulations.Mentor junior researchers, research assistants, and students involved in projects.Translate research findings and upskill staff on research outcomes.Build and strengthen collaboration across the men's health community
Contribute to Movember's recognition as a leader in men and masculinities research.Promote collaboration with external researchers and organizations, reducing barriers to partnership.Encourage use of evidence-based measurement tools for men's health and masculinities.External representation
- Act as a public spokesperson and leader in masculinities and men's health research.
Impact, Performance Indicators, and Knowledge Translation
Develop and implement knowledge translation plans for research projects.Support reporting on research progress and impact.Work with monitoring teams to include data in impact reports.Ensure compliance with governance and reporting standards.Qualifications needed:
- Ph.D. in psychology, public health, social sciences, or related fields.
- Experience designing and conducting research on masculinities and health.
- Publication record and experience with grant applications.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods and software (e.g., SPSS, R).
- Experience managing research projects.
- Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Knowledge of ethical considerations in mental health research.
