Amazon Q for business is AWS's generative AI assistant for enterprises. A research engineer at Plato needs to have a strong background in AWS production services, AI, cloud infrastructure, along with a proven track record of delivering results. A research engineer will participate in AI research, develop tooling's and experiment frameworks to improve science team's productivity, interface with engineering team to fill in any gaps, help to gauge science code quality and attend code reviews, manage science on-calls, as well as maintain infrastructures.

• Participate in research and development: contribute to developing Retrieval Augmented Generation technologies, fine-tuning embedding models and LLMs
• Build and improve tooling for scientists, including experiment frameworks, testing pipelines, and data web applications
• Bridge science and engineering pipelines to enable fast science-to-production workflows
• Review science code for quality and standards
• Manage science infrastructure on AWS, including security, templates, cost management

A Research Engineer supports Applied Scientists by building tools, frameworks, and infrastructure, and may lead joint projects between science and engineering teams.

• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture
• 3+ years of professional software development
• Experience programming in at least one language
• Master's degree or equivalent

• 3+ years in large-scale machine learning infrastructure
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices
• Experience with ML, data mining, analytics
• Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
