Pre-doctoral research associateship in multi-modal (speech, text, and/or vision) machine learning as applied to the study of human behavior in educational and group collaboration contexts. Faculty advisor: Prof. Jacob Whitehill.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research in machine learning and its applications to multi-modal (primarily speech, text, and vision) human behavior analysis, especially in classroom and group collaboration contexts. Implement and evaluate computational experiments to test novel ways of automatically observing human behavior and communication. Build research prototypes in code. Collaborate with graduate students and postdocs in the research lab.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, machine learning, or similar.
- Demonstrated interest in conducting research in topics related to machine learning, artificial intelligence, educational data mining, speech analysis, multi-modal behavior analysis, etc.
