Research Assistant - University of Georgia : Job Details

This position will provide research support to research and extension programs under the supervision of FRS superintendent, Andy Carter. This position will participate in all aspects of field work including tillage, fertilization, planting, irrigation, cultivation, harvest and application of crop protection chemicals. They will be responsible for maintenance and repair of large equipment used to support the row crop research projects; additionally, they will assist with forestry management practices and farm maintenance on all of the Tifton Campus Farms. They will maintain and submit field records and assist all FRS personnel with other projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Knowledge and experience operating agricultural & heavy equipment including: Tractors Sprayers Combines Cotton Pickers Bulldozers Physical Demands Lift 50 lbs.
