Research Assistant Position

The Research Assistant provides support for research project operations and logistics, facilitates communications between research team and sponsors, assists with data entry and organization, prepares project documentation, and processes financial transactions related to the project.

The primary responsibilities of the position will be assisting the Director, Prof. Doug Werner, to manage the daily operation of the Computational Electromagnetics and Antennas Research Lab (CEARL) as well as the Center. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in funded research projects and is expected to assist in the writing of proposals and preparing technical reports as well as other duties as directed.

Duties are but not limited to the following:

  • Assisting the Director in managing the daily operations of the CEARL
  • Assisting and preparing technical reports for current and future internal/external sponsors
  • Assisting with writing proposals for future research opportunities
  • Other lab duties as needed

Minimum requirements for this position include an Associate's Degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a Term position for one calendar year with great opportunity for extension.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
