About the Role The Rental Coordinator will be responsible for various functions, including raising rental contracts, managing equipment logistics, and providing customer service. Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Act as the front-line contact by warmly greeting the customer. Both by phone and walk-in.
- Prepare rental contracts and ensure all proper documentation, such as credit apps and insurance coverage, is obtained before renting the equipment.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship with all customers.
- Quote rental rates during the phone conversation (i.e., one call resolution).
- Product expert and consultant to the customers - communicate effectively with customers to understand their equipment needs and requirements.
- Coordinate and schedule rentals, ensuring timely delivery and pickup of equipment.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to the rental process.
- Handle small equipment and tool sales for walk-in customers as needed.
- Accountable for managing the equipment rental guidelines and policies.
- Support and act as a liaison to the outside sales force, directing their leads their way if needed.
- Inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working condition before and after rentals.
- Manage inventory of rental equipment, keeping accurate records and ensuring availability.
- Organize transport of equipment, arranging logistics for delivery and pickup.
- Track equipment usage and schedule routine maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition
- Ensure compliance with rental procedures and company policies.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment repairs and routine checks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 - 5 years' experience as a rental coordinator or counter attendant, preferably in the equipment rental industry.
- Prior experience working with a variety of construction equipment is a plus.
- Exceptional phone skills and customer service skills.
- Highly competent computer and typing skills (Microsoft Office).
- Excel in a fast-paced, highly urgent environment.
- The ability to calculate figures to close the sale quickly, for example, on a phone call.
- The desire to learn about new equipment and systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Verifiable references and a good work history.
