Energy Storage Asset O&M Director - Energy Storage
Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)
This is an opportunity to join an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing, focused on developing and executing dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. The company has accumulated over 9GW of projects and is currently expanding rapidly.
The Energy Storage Operations & Maintenance Director will join the organizational leadership to drive operational strategy across the company's assets in a growing Asset Management Division. This role focuses on field-based O&M strategies, including warranties, fleet management, commissioning, and testing.
The team is dedicated to energy storage asset management, O&M, energy trading strategies, and real-time operations. Collaboration with asset management and energy trading teams will be key to optimizing renewable energy battery storage assets nationwide.

Responsibilities:
Manage field-based O&M functions for utility-scale battery storage assets nationwide to maximize performance and revenue.Develop and implement asset-based O&M strategies aligned with power trading and market operations.Drive asset optimization through evaluation of equipment, hardware, and software in collaboration with IT and OT departments.Lead troubleshooting initiatives to improve project performance, focusing on system enhancements and process improvements.Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors to enhance production and cost efficiency.Coordinate with other directors and stakeholders on asset O&M, compliance (OSHA, NERC), risk management, and P&L reporting.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field, with renewable asset management experience; 10+ years in O&M, with energy storage experience acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Proven leadership in field operational asset management within renewable energy sectors.
- Experience with energy storage, BESS, or battery O&M providers and OEM equipment preferred.
- Experience managing diverse energy platform portfolios (solar, wind, BESS, etc.).
- Ability to ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO/RTO, and NERC standards.
- Ideal candidates have held roles like Sr. Director of Asset Management, O&M Director, or similar in renewable or clean energy companies.
