Job Description

The Unmanned Aerial System Pilot will operate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) remotely piloted vehicles (RPVs), ground stations, and payloads. Responsibilities include gathering intelligence for mission planning, building and fabricating COTS remote-controlled vehicles, and configuring flight controllers for waypoint missions.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Experience instructing diverse personnel in a military environment.
• Experience with COTS multi-rotor and fixed-wing aircraft, including hobbyist UAS.
• Must obtain a FAA UAS PART 107 Pilot License.
• Experience with all RPV types (land, air, sea) and ability to design/fabricate with limited instructions or pre-built kits.
• Ability to research and describe emerging RPV technologies and their impact on DoD capabilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and intelligence automation tools.
• Ability to work independently and interact effectively with teams and military units.

Experience LevelsJunior

• BA/BS with 0-3 years experience or
• Associates degree + 4 years experience (equivalent to a Bachelor's)
• No degree + 6 years experience (equivalent to a Bachelor's)

Journeyman

• BA/BS with 3-10 years experience or
• Associates degree + 4 years experience (equivalent to a Bachelor's)
• No degree + 6 years experience (equivalent to a Bachelor's)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Group 2+/3 UAS, especially Penguin B and C platforms.
• Manned pilot experience.
• Ability to interpret aeronautical charts and coordinate with Air Traffic Control.
• Knowledge of UAS components and flight control software such as PixHawk, Mission Planner, etc.
