We are currently searching for a talented and motivated DevOps Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This is a fully remote role where you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our development, QA, and production infrastructure within the healthcare industry.
As a DevOps Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and enhancing CI/CD pipelines for our development, QA, and production environments.
- Administering Windows Server and Linux Server environments to ensure high system availability.
- Troubleshooting issues across various layers including OS, network, web server (Apache/Tomcat), and application layer.
- Administering and maintaining Atlassian Data Center products (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.) including upgrades and migrations.
- Managing Windows patch rollouts with minimal downtime while maintaining patching schedules.
- Participating in a Tier 2-3 24/7 on-call rotation to provide rapid incident response for critical systems.
- Supporting Java application deployments and runtime environments.
- Collaborating with development, QA, and IT teams to enhance automation, monitoring, and system reliability.
Required qualifications include:
- 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or Systems Engineering role.
- Hands-on experience with build/release/deploy pipelines and automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of both Windows Server and Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
- Experience with Apache and Tomcat configurations and troubleshooting.
- Solid networking fundamentals and experience diagnosing network layer issues.
- Experience administering Atlassian Data Center products in a production environment.
- Proficiency in managing Windows patches using WSUS/SCCM or similar tools.
- Comfortable with a 24/7 on-call rotation for production systems.
- Familiarity with configuring and troubleshooting Java applications.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
- Experience with Docker or containerized applications.
- Familiarity with Redis and queueing systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
This opportunity offers a competitive rate of $50 - $60 per hour on a W2 basis, with benefits for eligible W2 consultants including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company matching.
