Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure systems are in place for maintenance and operations to better understand, monitor and communicate the health of all production processes and equipment.
- Lead efforts to improve and sustain overall equipment preventative and predictive reliability strategies.
- Review and follow up on equipment failures, utilizing root cause failure analysis, and offer solutions and own corrective actions to prevent future failures.
- Responsible for developing, documenting, and improving predictive maintenance programs using predictive failure techniques such as vibration analysis.
- Utilize predictive processes and tools (vibration reports, oil analysis, etc.) to assist in setting priorities for daily and outage scheduled jobs.
- Train hourly work force on proper PM techniques as required.
- Manage contractors during outages for safety, execution and cost control.
- Review/critique outage execution to identify obstacles and areas for improvement.
- Provide mill-wide technical expertise for the analysis, development and evaluation of new maintenance technologies and equipment, and fully utilize all existing technology.
- Observe and follow plant rules for safety and GMPs.
Education and Experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or technical discipline related to maintenance.
- Experience in preventative and predictive maintenance preferred.
- Demonstrated capabilities in paper manufacturing preferred.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to support operations/maintenance on a day to day basis and to form effective business relationships at various levels within the company to accomplish desired results.
- Must be available off hours to respond to troubleshooting issues in a timely manner.
- Excellent motivation and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
- Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Position requires 5 - 10% travel.
