Reliability Engineer

Push the Limits of Laser Reliability in Next-Gen Photonics!

We're hiring a hands-on Laser Reliability Engineer to lead advanced testing and failure diagnostics for cutting-edge semiconductor lasers and Silicon Photonics devices. You'll define reliability strategy, dig into root cause analysis, and directly influence the design and durability of high-performance photonic components.

This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of experimentation and analysis—someone who wants to ensure the lasers driving the next wave of optical innovation are built to last.

What You'll Do

• Own and drive FMEA for laser and photonic device failure mechanisms.
• Design and implement reliability test plans under real-world stress and aging conditions.
• Perform failure analysis using optical, electrical, and structural characterization tools.
• Partner with design and process engineers to implement preventive design improvements.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing reliability outcomes and actionable insights.
• Stay ahead of the curve on industry reliability standards and evolving laser technologies.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor laser reliability testing and failure analysis.
• Expertise in metrology techniques (e.g., SEM, FIB, X-ray, thermal imaging).
• Strong knowledge of FMEA, reliability standards (especially Telcordia), and statistical analysis (JMP or similar).
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
• Proven ability to translate complex failure modes into design and process improvements.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
