As a member of the team at Detroit Salt, you will contribute to maintaining our company's efficient mining process and enriching our workforce.Job SummaryReporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent, our Reliability Engineer will be an integral part of the Maintenance Department and responsible for applying engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment, or processes used in processing or manufacturing products. The role involves analyzing equipment demands, developing maintenance strategies, supervising contractors, designing plant equipment, managing projects, and ensuring reliability and performance standards.Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing repair demands and proposing solutions to prevent equipment breakdowns and reduce downtime.
  • Developing strategies for equipment maintenance, utilizing relevant data and information.
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with EHS regulations.
  • Designing and analyzing equipment specifications and performance requirements.
  • Using engineering software for designing plant equipment and processes.
  • Managing expense and capital projects from scope to completion.
  • Providing technical expertise on manufacturing techniques and materials.
  • Analyzing operational data to establish performance standards and improve existing systems.
  • Staying updated with industry technical developments.
  • Assisting with electrical/mechanical preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of engineering experience with strong electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Reliability certification preferred.
  • Manufacturing and CMMS experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal mining laws (MSHA) and mining operations.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to climb ladders, crawl, and bend regularly.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty pounds and wear PPE.
  • Work in varying outdoor temperatures.
