Position Summary:The reliability engineer is responsible for making improvements in equipment uptime and reduce maintenance-related costs. This role provides technical expertise through data-driven analysis and the execution of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies. The Reliability Engineer is a key player in minimizing unplanned downtime, optimizing asset performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Equipment Reliability:

• Collect, organize, and analyze operational and maintenance data to detect equipment performance trends and recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain key reliability metrics (MTBF, MTTR, OEE) and dashboards to monitor equipment health.
• Conduct statistical analysis to identify root causes of equipment failure and prioritize corrective actions.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Strategy:

• Design and optimize preventive maintenance schedules based on manufacturer recommendations and historical failure data.
• Implement and manage predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, ultrasound).
• Evaluate the effectiveness of current maintenance strategies and recommend enhancements to reduce unplanned downtime.

Root Cause & Failure Analysis:

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts following equipment failures or performance issues.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams to conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
• Document and track failure incidents, solutions, and lessons learned to prevent recurrence.

Technical Support & Equipment Improvements:

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for maintenance teams on equipment reliability and asset health.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, manuals, schematics, and OEM documentation to support troubleshooting and repair.
• Recommend design or component changes to improve reliability and maintainability of critical systems.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction:

• Initiate and lead reliability improvement projects aimed at reducing maintenance costs and increasing equipment uptime.
• Evaluate the total cost of ownership (TCO) for equipment and recommend actions to optimize lifecycle costs.
• Collaborate with procurement and engineering to standardize parts, reduce inventory, and select reliable vendors.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment:

• Work closely with operations, production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure reliability goals align with production demands.
• Participate in capital projects by contributing to the selection of reliable and maintainable equipment and systems.
• Support safety and environmental compliance through proactive equipment reliability efforts.

Supervision & Field Execution:

• Provide technical oversight during major repairs, turnarounds, and planned outages to ensure quality execution and adherence to timelines.
• Coordinate with maintenance supervisors to allocate resources effectively and support safe work practices.
• Verify that maintenance work is completed to standard and ensure follow-up actions are closed out.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance procedures, reliability reports, and equipment history.
• Prepare and present reports on reliability initiatives, KPI performance, and improvement outcomes to leadership.
• Ensure CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is effectively used and data is accurately recorded.

Working Conditions:

· Environment: Time is split between an office and an aluminum coil coating production area, which includes exposure to high noise levels, confined spaces, temperature fluctuations, and fumes/vapors.

· Shifts: Monday through Friday dayshift with nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Available for on-call emergency response to critical process failures.

· Pace:Fast-paced industrial setting that requires constant awareness of moving machinery and materials.

Qualifications: Education/Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.

· Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Master's in Reliability Engineering, Lean Six Sigma, CMRP) are highly desirable.

· 3–5 years of experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, or related roles within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

· Hands-on experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
