Overview
As a member of the Retail Banking team, the Relationship Banker provides guidance on banking products and services. They will interface with other business lines to refer customers when needs are assessed. The Relationship Banker must possess high energy and cultivate meaningful relationships with new and existing customers, using trust, respect, integrity, and transparency. They provide value by assisting clients on the teller line and platform, contributing to the branch's goals, collaborating on sales strategies, and participating in community activities to develop business.
Responsibilities
The following are essential functions, which may change without notice. Management may assign new duties or reassign existing ones:
Attain complete knowledge of products and services, recognize referral opportunities, and partner with other business lines including mortgage, wealth, cash management, commercial lending, and residential lending.Perform all teller and platform transactions promptly, efficiently, and accurately.Deliver and cross-sell banking products based on customer needs through platform interactions and teller line transitions.Assist in achieving branch-specific goals aligned with bank initiatives and strategic plans.Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving problems, and following up in accordance with bank policies.Conduct outbound sales activities, including prospecting and calling prospective and existing customers via in-person, virtual, and phone interactions.Maintain confidentiality of all customer information in accordance with bank policies.Operate required technology efficiently.Use the customer management system consistently to document interactions, send referrals, and update campaigns.Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous banking or relevant experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Customer service and sales skills.
- Knowledge of deposit and loan products.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Balanced decision-making considering both customer and company interests.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Effective selling, cross-selling, and referral skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and core banking systems.
- Participation in community activities as necessary.
