Join Our Team

You will be anUnderwritersupporting our non-CAT property reinsurance portfolio. You will underwrite new and renewal Property business, as well as be a visible presence in the marketplace, develop new and existing client relationships that help to increase our market share, be dedicated to providing quality service to our key stakeholders. You will report to the Head of US non-CAT Property Reinsurance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Review and make recommendations on new and renewal property treaty business per Underwriting guidelines and industry standards.
  • Review and assess underwriting submissions, , financial statements, and other relevant documents.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks; monitoring the performance of existing treaties and recommend adjustments, as needed.
  • Support the development of strategies to optimize portfolio profitability and prepare reports and presentations on portfolio performance for internal stake holders.
  • Utilize knowledge of reinsuranceand insurance ,regulations, as well as, underwriting guidelines to make informed decisions.
  • Review new and renewal contract wordings and collaborate with the Legal Department for correct language requirements for a profitable account.
  • Participate in client and broker meetings, industry events, and conferences to build and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries.
  • Collaborate with intermediariesto understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of industry trends, market conditions, and client data to accurately assess risk.
  • Remain up-to-date on industry developments and changes in regulations and policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, including claims, actuarial, and legalto gather necessary information and ensure accurate risk assessment.
  • Adhere to company underwriting standards and guidelines to ensure consistent and quality underwriting practices.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of underwriting decisions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and promote a positive team dynamic.

Your skills and abilities should include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relative experience.
  • 5 – 7 years of re/insurance Property underwriting experience.
  • Understand policy rating and be proficient in the use of policy rating systems
  • Familiarity with primary and reinsurance contract wording
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with a drive for success and the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

SALARY: The estimated salary range for this position is $170,000 to $180,000 per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, SiriusPoint will consider a candidate's relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
